Cicadas pulse the pace of a lazy summer day.
Maple leaves dance and butterflies flutter.
In the meadow across the road a mockingbird struts atop a fenceboard.
When a car careens by the moment is jolted and I'm smacked in the face by the chores
Left before another week.
It was a pleasure to meet you today at Saint Stephen's market. I hope to see you around and perhaps at James River Writers. Thank you for sharing your family's site. The poetry is lovely.
